Direct marketing is an important element of most marketing campaigns. At
jam design we are more likely to recommend directing your advertising message to a database than we would recommend media advertising.
It is said that “the next best customer is the one you already have” – and we strongly believe in that.
All of which means it is crucial for a progressive marketing client to have built -- or be building -- a comprehensive database.
This can be achieved by focusing on three areas – the database you have (and encouraging referrals) – the database you can buy to extend your own – and the database additions you can gain from mainstream media advertising/signage etc.
Inevitably, building an accurate database is a major necessary step. Then preparing an on going plan of approach to that database is the next major step.
That plan should be regular, informative, include news, helpful hints, community or VIP member involvement; quite apart from the obvious “we have an offer.”
The message can go out as a postage newsletter or email newsletter -- or a combination of both.
